Meghan Ely may be the original when it comes to wedding industry PR. But over the years, OFD Consulting has shifted away from a done-for-you PR agency and toward an approach that leans on teaching, speaking, and done-with-you PR.

With a glow-up for their website already planned, Meghan came to me to write the copy. Her goals were twofold: highlight the agency’s new focus, including an emphasis on PR within the wedding industry; and keep a relaxed tone of voice while doing it. (If you’ve ever heard Meghan speak, this totally tracks - she absolutely will crack you up while she’s onstage.)

Wedding PR has evolved dramatically over the past 15 years, and OFD has evolved right along with it. The copy I wrote for the new site emphasized OFD’s shift away from one-to-one PR services, and toward a membership that supports clients in multiple ways without requiring a four-figure retainer each month.

Meghan also wanted to be realistic about what clients can expect when investing in PR, and the strategies she recommends - which go deeper than submissions to household-name magazines. She’s emphatically not going to imply that if you work with her, you’ll be in Vogue next week.

The copy also underlined the work OFD does to position its clients as leaders within the wedding industry, and why there’s so much value in that. Meghan’s developed courses on speaking, and works to get her clients quoted in all kinds of industry publications.
